Nestled in the heart of Lagos, Caravela offered a nice gourmet getaway. One sunny morning, I found myself savoring breakfast in a cozy room adorned with fine 17th-century tiles. The ambiance was warm and inviting-not overly fancy, but just right for a casual start to the day. Each morning, the generous spread included fresh pastries, regional cheeses, and the most good local marmalades. I found it hard to resist the charm of savoring breakfast while surrounded by such rich history. After a day of exploring the town's ancient streets and climbing nearby cliffs, I decided to dine at Restaurante Caravela, just a stone's throw away. The menu was extensive, with dishes I'd never quite experienced before. Their grilled octopus was undoubtedly a highlight, perfectly tender and bursting with flavor. Though the service was speedy, made me feel slightly rushed, there was something comforting about the lively atmosphere , made up for it. After a quick meal, I meandered towards the bustling Esquina do Fado, where I indulged in more local flavors. In short, Caravela proved to be a convenient base for my adventures, showcasing the best of Lagos' culinary scene amidst historical beauty.
